Sometimes we must take risks and do things that we know may have unpleasant consequences. That may involve being blackballed for doing the right thing. However, at the end of the day, we really need to hold true to ourselves and to the things we believe or know to be right despite the consequences.

How we invest those dash years depends on our priorities, whatever we may believe our calling in life has been, our ability to take a chance on someone or something even when circumstances deem otherwise, and how we choose to impact the lives of the people and world around us.

It took a brother’s terminal illness to bring about the reconciliation of the relationship. There were way too many lost years of relationship and fellowship over a few dollars ---- which amounted to nothing in the long run.

He noted that first came the date of the birth and spoke the following date with tears. But he said what mattered most of all was the dash between the years." How we invest those dash years depends on our priorities and how we choose to impact the lives of the people and world around us.

I did learn the value of conviction and truthfulness in the information shared up the management chain. As a leader, I need to be sure I have conviction and truthfulness in the information I share about my team and the work we are doing. As a subordinate, I need those qualities too. My boss stakes his reputation on my conviction and truthfulness.
