Innovation is often seen as a spark of genius, a sudden flash of insight that changes everything. But from my experience, innovation is rarely a solo act. I have had many IT vendor partners over the years. I always shared this story with them as the Gold standard of vendor relationships, credibility, trust, and partnership. Partners work together to overcome problems and find solutions. Hopefully, the solutions are win-win, but sometimes they are not. A trusted partner manages the tough times as an aberration to the relationship and works through the circumstances with the long-term view in mind.
