I thought that the clear spaces and the thunderheads are like our life journey. We have peaceful times interspersed with times of turbulence. How we respond to those turbulent times impacts our life’s journey overall quality and direction, our careers, our relationship with others, and our relationship with our Creator. Those turbulent times are where we learn the life lessons that mold us into stronger or better people or crush us beyond repair.

This has been a week of watching World Cup Football (Soccer) games. It has been refreshing to see crowds of people across multiple ethnicities, cultures, and nationalities rally around their country’s national team. Despite all the divisive tactics mentioned above, it has been refreshing ---- say even thrilling --- to see many of our international visitors see a view of America that they do not normally hear at home

Every day is an opportunity for you to help someone along on their career journey. Identifying potential leaders can happen anywhere --- even in the most unusual circumstances. You just must be present and open to see the potential in others.

We live in a polarized world. Friends and family members have been lost because of differing opinions ---- political or otherwise. How did we get here? Many blame social media. That is at least partially true. With the advent of social media, we frequently retreat into our echo chambers ---- our views reinforced by others with similar views. We measure the value of our opinions by the number of “likes” we get on our posts. Would the world be different if we started being kind

Too often when someone close to us passes, we wish we had another day or hour with them. We wish we had a second chance to discuss some subject for advice or to work through some issue that was unresolved. Unfortunately, we never get that “extra” chance.
